West Elm March Faves

West Elm Mag Products.jpg

I don't typically look for items at West Elm because for the most part, it's too modern for my style. I don't own a thing from the store, but for some reason I got their March catalog.* And I'm surprised by how many things I see that I really love! Like, would actually consider buying - because of the prettiness and the great price points.

Today I discovered a really cool story when I looked up the papier-mâché animal sculptures - they are all handmade in Haiti as part of a collaboration West Elm is doing with a company of artists in Port-au-Prince (Caribbean Craft). Caribbean Craft started with a vision to create jobs for Haitians. The school and church I grew up in is connected with a ministry in Port-au-Prince, and one of my college housemates worked for a long time with a nonprofit that created jobs for Haitian parents. So I love hearing stories about other organizations working toward the same goal. There's a Youtube video about the company here. How cool is that?!

Here are my faves:

1. Papier-Mâché Animal Sculptures

2. Steven Alan Papier-Mâché Side Table

3. Rhino

4. Key Wool Dhurrie

5. Sculptural Spheres

6. Bubbles Ceramic Side Table

7. Cluster Glass Pendant

8. Marble Oval Coffee
